Fall Cleaning

Aren't you impressed with this first picture?  You should be -- it is the bottom of our chest freezer!!  Do you realize how long it's been since we've seen this?  I think I win the prize for finding the most unusual thing in the bottom of a freezer....a bag of lilacs!!  Yes- - I confess -- at one time I froze some flowers.  Our daughter Jill and her husband Brett were living in Tennessee and she missed the smell of the lilacs.  so like any good mother, I froze some.  When she came home we opened a bag and could get just a little whif of that wonderful lilac fragrance.  I don't highly recommend filling your freezer with such, but it did make cleaning the freezer more .
interesting.

I've been wanting to try a new recipe for some time.  Last Saturday with extra eaters to try them out, I made these ham and cheese scones.  You will notice I haven't included the recipe - it needs tweaking.  The grandsons thought they were ok -- so they got to take them home. Either that or they were just hungry from cleaning barns and doing field work.

  1. Jill e-mailed me and said she remembered the frozen lilacs. Some day when I'm gone the memory will be..."remember the time Mom........." My kids will fill in that blank. Jolyn
